LASER MEDICINE.
Thanks to the latest technology using the Erbium-YAG laser, we can remove raised skin changes such as annoying skin warts or pedunculated warts in a targeted and gentle manner in our practice. With this precise laser treatment, individual layers of skin can be removed with millimeter precision to significantly improve the appearance of your skin.
Before treatment with the Erbium-YAG laser is carried out, a detailed consultation and examination is carried out. Your dermatologist will discuss with you the best treatment plan based on the type and size of the skin lesion. Your medical history and any allergies will also be taken into account. Typically no special preparation is required, but it is recommended that the treated area is clean and free of creams or makeup.
The treatment process with the Erbium YAG laser is usually very quick and efficient. First, the affected skin area is thoroughly cleaned to create a hygienic basis for the treatment. Local anesthesia is then applied to the skin, usually in the form of an ointment or injection, to ensure that the treatment is completely painless. Once the anesthetized area is prepared, the erbium-YAG laser is directed at the skin lesion. The laser beam penetrates the skin precisely and vaporizes the excess tissue. Only the treated tissue is removed without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue. The laser enables a very targeted treatment so that even the smallest skin lesions can be removed. The entire treatment usually only takes a few minutes, depending on the size and number of skin areas to be treated.
After the treatment, the skin may be slightly warm. Similar to a small abrasion, a crust forms that heals within ten days to two weeks. It is important not to remove this crust to prevent scarring. During the healing period, the area should be treated with an anti-inflammatory cream to prevent infection.
When the crust peels off, fresh, initially red skin is revealed. This redness usually subsides quickly and can be easily covered if necessary. To prevent pigment changes, it is important to protect the skin from UV radiation with a sun protection factor of 50 for at least four weeks.
In most cases, the skin heals quickly and no scars remain. Your dermatologist will give you detailed aftercare instructions, such as avoiding irritants or applying protective ointments. It is important to check the treated area regularly to ensure the best possible healing and to detect any complications early.
