CLASSICAL DERMATOLOGY
The diagnosis of skin cancer can trigger fear and uncertainty in many people. However, if the disease is detected early, the treatment outcomes are usually very promising and your worries may be unfounded. We therefore advise you to have regular skin cancer screenings in our practice. If we find any abnormalities, we can quickly and specifically initiate effective therapy. Depending on the findings, we have a variety of proven and innovative treatment methods at our disposal.
If a conspicuous skin lesion is discovered during skin cancer screening, we first recommend a skin biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.
For the treatment of actinic keratosis, a precursor to white skin cancer, we use modern laser medicine or, preferably, daylight PDT.
If you are diagnosed with white skin cancer, known as basal cell carcinoma, there are various treatment options available depending on the size of the lesion. Smaller basal cell carcinomas and actinic keratoses (see above) can be treated gently and without scarring using a combination of laser and photodynamic therapy. Larger basal cell carcinomas are removed surgically and under micrographic control.
In the case of black skin cancer, also known as malignant melanoma, surgical removal is carried out in accordance with guidelines. Afterwards, regular follow-up examinations - depending on the stage of the disease - are of crucial importance.
We will be happy to explain the possible treatment options to you in a personal consultation and take enough time to confidentially answer your questions and concerns. We are also happy to provide you with advice and support outside of office hours - because your health is important to us.
