The skin on the neck is particularly fine and tends to sag and develop fine lines over time. Neck lifting with the erbium laser is a gentle and effective method of smoothing and tightening the skin on the neck – without any surgical intervention. The erbium laser removes layers of skin in a targeted manner and stimulates collagen production, which gradually tightens and rejuvenates the skin.
Before the neck lift with the erbium laser, you will receive detailed advice from your dermatologist. During this consultation, your skin will be assessed to determine which treatment is best and your individual goals will be discussed. There is no special preparation required, but it is recommended to remove makeup and creams from the skin in the treatment area for optimal results. In some cases, the doctor may advise you to temporarily avoid certain skin care products or medications to increase skin resistance during treatment.
The treatment is uncomplicated and takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Thanks to the precise effect of the Erbium laser, the procedure can usually be carried out without anesthesia, as the laser only treats the top layers of skin and is well tolerated by most patients. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be slightly red and minimally swollen, but in most cases this subsides after a short time.
After treatment, you may experience slight redness or swelling in the neck area, which usually resolves within one to two days. It is recommended to protect the treated area from direct sunlight for the first few days and to regularly apply a soothing, moisturizing serum or cream to aid healing. In addition, you should not put much strain on your neck in the first few days after treatment and avoid skin care products that could irritate the skin. Regular use of sunscreen is essential to protect the skin during the healing period.
