ACNE

CAUSES AND MODERN TREATMENT OPTIONS.

Acne is one of the most common skin diseases and affects both adolescents and adults. It manifests itself in pimples, blackheads and inflammatory skin changes that can affect the self-confidence of those affected. There are two main forms of acne: juvenile acne and acne tarda.

Juvenile acne occurs mainly during puberty and is often triggered by hormonal changes. During this phase of life, the sebaceous glands produce excessive amounts of sebum, which leads to clogged pores and inflammatory changes. In contrast, acne tarda usually occurs in adulthood and can be caused by stress, hormonal fluctuations or certain medications. This form often presents as stubborn, inflammatory skin blemishes that are more difficult to treat.

Acne can not only cause physical symptoms, but can also cause considerable psychological distress. Many sufferers suffer from low self-esteem, social anxiety and depression, which result from the visible skin condition. We are aware of the emotional burden that acne can bring and are committed to treating not only the physical symptoms, but also taking the psychological aspects of the disease into account.

At our practice, we offer comprehensive acne treatment options tailored to your individual needs. These include topical therapies applied directly to the skin to reduce inflammation, as well as oral medications such as antibiotics or retinoids to control severe symptoms. In addition, we use modern laser therapy to treat inflamed areas of skin and improve the skin's appearance.

However, with the right treatment and care, the symptoms can be effectively alleviated.

In our practice we offer various effective treatment methods. In addition to laser therapy, which specifically reduces redness and improves the skin's appearance, we also use local therapies and oral medications to stop the progression of rosacea and minimize skin inflammation.

In addition to medication, regular and individually tailored skin care is very important. This combination allows us to treat symptoms individually and achieve the best possible results.

We are also happy to advise you on lifestyle and trigger factors that can influence rosacea, such as Nutrition and sun protection.

A holistic approach to skin health allows us to not only alleviate acute symptoms, but also to ensure a stable skin structure in the long term. In addition to medication, regular and individually tailored skin care is very important. This combination allows us to treat symptoms individually and achieve the best possible results.

MODERN THERAPIES FOR BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE.

Psoriasis, also known as psoriasis, is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease associated with red, scaly patches of skin and often severe itching. These skin changes occur in different areas of the body and can significantly affect daily life, both socially and psychologically. The severe itching, which is often accompanied by burning or pain in the affected skin areas, is particularly stressful. NEURODERMATITIS

EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS FOR MANAGING NEURODERMATITIS.

Neurodermatitis, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is characterized by dry, red and itchy skin patches. The disease occurs in bouts, the intensity of which can vary greatly. Neurodermatitis is particularly common in children, but adults can also be affected.

Hände mit NEURODERMITIS Beschwerden

CAUSES AND TRIGGER FACTORS.

The exact cause of atopic dermatitis is not fully understood. It is known that genetic predisposition and an overactive immune system play a central role. The skin barrier is weakened in atopic dermatitis patients, which leads to dryness and susceptibility to irritants. Various factors such as stress, allergens, climatic conditions or certain foods can trigger or intensify flare-ups.

SYMPTOMS.

Itchy, dry and inflamed areas of skin are typical, often on the arms, legs and face. In children, neurodermatitis often appears in the elbows and backs of the knees. The itching can be particularly severe at night and can significantly affect sleep. Scratching while you sleep can further damage the skin and cause inflammation to worsen, creating a vicious cycle. These symptoms not only affect physical well-being, but can also cause psychological stress.

TREATMENT OPTIONS.

01

Care and protection of the skin barrier:

Regular care with moisturizing and moisturizing creams strengthens the skin barrier and reduces dryness.

02

Drug therapy:

In cases of more severe symptoms, cortisone-containing creams or immunomodulating ointments can help to calm the inflammation. Modern medications such as biologics offer targeted therapy without the classic side effects in more severe cases.

03

Individual advice:

Stress management, nutritional tips and avoiding triggers are other important building blocks for long-term control.

WARTS

Rückenansicht mit zwei Warzen

The main cause of viral and genital warts are human papilloma viruses. Viral warts are particularly common in children and are transmitted through direct or indirect contact - for example through smear infection. Popular places for infection are swimming pools or saunas, where the moist conditions favor the virus. This type of wart typically appears as raised, hardened areas on the skin, especially on the hands and feet.

In contrast, genital warts or condyloma acuminata are usually transmitted through sexual intercourse. We understand that the diagnosis and the topic of genital warts are associated with feelings of shame for many patients. In our practice, we therefore create a trusting and respectful atmosphere in which you can feel safe and comfortable.

Although these types of warts are usually not painful, dermatological treatment is advisable. This helps prevent further spread to other parts of the body and possible worsening of the condition.

In addition, certain benign skin growths are also commonly referred to as warts. These include the soft fibromas known as pedunculated warts, as well as the usually rough age-related warts, which are medically known as basal cell papillomas or seborrhoeic keratoses. Even though these variants are usually only removed for aesthetic or practical reasons, they can cause painful discomfort if they are poorly positioned. Age spots in particular can cause severe itching.

Our range of services includes tried and tested procedures and modern technologies, including laser therapy, which offers an effective and gentle solution for removing viral warts, age spots and other benign skin changes. Laser medicine enables us to treat these skin changes in a targeted manner and with minimal risk to the surrounding tissue. This way, we can help you achieve healthy and beautiful skin.

We would be happy to advise you in detail about the various treatment options in a personal consultation.

NAIL FUNGUS

EFFECTIVE TREATMENT IN OUR PRACTICE.

Nail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is a common infection caused by various types of fungi. It is often contracted in humid environments, such as swimming pools, gyms or through direct contact with infected people. Affected nails can become discolored, thickened and brittle, often causing discomfort and aesthetic problems. If left untreated, nail fungus can lead to the complete dissolution of the horny substance.

In our private dermatology practice in Hamburg, we offer you comprehensive diagnostics and treatment options to effectively combat nail fungus. We use both medicinal and innovative laser medical procedures. We rely on close and active cooperation with you. Only with continuous and regular use of the chosen therapy is it possible to keep the stubborn disease in check.

We place great importance on individual advice and treatment that is tailored to your specific needs. After the diagnosis, we conduct detailed discussions to explain the best options and answer all your questions.

HYPERHIDROSIS/EXCESSIVE SWEATING.

Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, affects many people and can significantly affect daily life. Those affected find the symptoms particularly distressing in situations where increased sweating is inappropriate or unpleasant. They often feel insecure in social and professional situations, which can significantly affect self-confidence. Hyperhidrosis often occurs on the hands, feet, armpits or face and often cannot be adequately controlled with conventional remedies such as antiperspirants.

Before treatment begins, the first step should be to determine whether the increased sweating is possibly caused by an endocrinological or neurological disease. These can also cause excessive sweating and should be ruled out.

In our private dermatology practice, we offer an effective solution for treating hyperhidrosis with botulinum toxin A. This method specifically inhibits the activity of the sweat glands by blocking the nerve impulses that cause sweating. The treatment is minimally invasive, almost painless and offers long-lasting results. Patients can notice a significant reduction in sweating just a few days after the treatment.

Let us advise you individually and find out more about how we can help you have a more pleasant, drier everyday life.

HAIR LOSS

CAUSES AND MODERN TREATMENT OPTIONS.

Hair loss can have various causes and is a widespread problem. The most common forms include hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia), which can affect both men and women. There is also circular hair loss (alopecia areata), an autoimmune disease, and hair loss caused by other diseases or deficiencies.

In order to determine the exact cause of hair loss, we offer comprehensive diagnostic procedures in our private dermatology practice, including the Tricholab, an advanced hair analysis system.

When it comes to therapy, we focus on individual solutions. In addition to drug treatment, we also offer innovative methods such as PRP treatment (platelet-rich plasma) and mesotherapy, which can stimulate hair growth and stop hair loss.

Hair loss can be very stressful for those affected, not only physically but also psychologically. In our practice, we ensure that our patients feel well looked after - we take care of your concerns and support you with empathy.
